Geriatric Depression
Make sure that the first thing you do is explore all the different treatment options.  A few things to keep in mind when you begin your search are, learn as much as you can about your depression, it takes time to find the right treatment, don't rely on medications alone, get social support, and treatment takes time and commitment.  One thing that should also be kept in mind is that simple lifestyle changes may be all one needs to treat depression; these are exercise and good nutrition, sleep, and stress reduction.  If these are not enough seek the attention of a doctor, a therapist, a psychiatrist.  There are so many different kinds of medication that can help with depression.
